CRESP Core provides fiscal and administrative oversight of all CRESP Projects, is responsible for fundraising, public relations, and organizational development, and conducts programming on topical issues related to justice and sustainability, which often reside at the intersection of religion, ethics, and social policy. Programming includes workshops, teach-ins, guest lectures, and action campaigns. They are
generally open to the public and may be organized independently or in collaboration with departments and organizations on or off Cornell's campus.

CRESPs central staff consists of an executive director, an associate director, and project coordinators. The CRESP Board has 15-18 members including a liaison from every project’s advisory board.

Approximately three-fourths of CRESP’s core budget is provided by an endowment. The remainder is generated through fund-raising and grant development and from shared administrative expenses from the projects. The projects raise their own program funds.

CRESP is an independent, not-for-profit agency, with limited affiliation with Cornell University. CRESP and its programs are operating independent of Cornell University, except for designated joint programs and mutual interest programs.
