CRESP is a nonsectarian, action-based educational organization with its roots in religious dialogue, human rights advocacy, and ethical thought.

Our mission is to encourage individuals to create and participate in projects and communities that are working towards a just, peaceful, and sustainable society. Linking the people and resources of Cornell University
with the wider community, CRESP fosters study, dialogue, and action through diverse and innovative approaches. In so doing, CRESP provides opportunities for personal and collective transformation.

It is CRESP's objective to increase the number of individuals and groups who are dedicated to building a just and sustainable society. By holding workshops and teach-ins, providing volunteer opportunities for students, collaborating with groups on campus and throughout Ithaca, making public statements, and sponsoring innovative social justice projects, CRESP hopes to engage others in a lifetime commitment to social justice and the preservation of the planet. CRESP's projects provide primary outreach as well as educational opportunities. Students participate as organizers and volunteers, conduct studies, provide hands-on technical assistance, and undertake research projects. CRESP also supports the efforts of student activists, such as United Progressives, the Cornell Greens, and the Cornell Organization for Labor Action (COLA).

CRESP's primary audience is the Cornell campus commuity, with outreach to Ithaca, Tompkins County, and beyond. Most but not all of our projects are locally based and have national and international import through their direct work, outreach, and literature.
